The Transatlantic Forum for Nature and Environment (TAFNE) brings together regional and local leaders from Germany and the United States to address a shared challenge: building economies fit for the future while protecting environmental resources and public health.
Through exchange, peer learning, and collaboration, TAFNE promotes forward-thinking initiatives and technologies that support nature and protect the environment, strengthen regional economies, and improve public health on both sides of the Atlantic.
TAFNE serves as a forum for open dialogue and hands-on learning. It connects policymakers, businesses, civil society organizations, and researchers to exchange insights and share practical solutions to pressing environmental and related resource and infrastructure issues—from restoring ecosystems and improving resource efficiency to building resilience against flooding and drought.
TAFNE is an initiative led by the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), with support from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN).
